Ventilation Management for Oyster Mushroom Production in Winter

Keep the air in the mushroom shed fresh and discharge the carbon dioxide produced by mushroom body metabolism.
1、Principle
Oyster mushrooms mainly live by decomposing organic matter. Oxygen is required during the decomposition of substances, and carbon dioxide is produced. Excessive carbon dioxide concentration in the mushroom shed will cause the death of mushroom buds and the appearance of a large number of deformed mushrooms.
2、Winter ventilation management principles
Ventilation should be frequent but not excessive. Ventilation can increase the oxygen content of the mushroom shed, but the cold air outside the shed will invade into the shed, thus lowering the temperature of the mushroom shed. Therefore, in winter, it is advisable to reduce the ventilation time as much as possible while ensuring sufficient oxygen in the shed. As long as people do not feel stuffy in the mushroom shed and the mushroom body is normal, it means there is no lack of oxygen in the shed.
3、Ventilation measures
① Open the vent at noon, but only if the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the shed is not too large;
② When the outside temperature is above 5℃, open the plastic film at the bottom of the south side of the shed by about 10 cm. The ventilation effect will be very obvious.
