What is the optimum temperature for mushroom cultivation? How to cool mushrooms in summer?

Lentinus edodes is a variable temperature fruiting fungus, which is particularly sensitive to temperature. In cultivation and production, the optimum temperature of shiitake mushrooms is generally around 23-25°C, too high or too low is not conducive to the cultivation and growth of shiitake mushrooms. However, it is also necessary to distinguish the different growth stages of shiitake mushrooms. For example, the optimum temperature for the mycelial growth stage of shiitake mushrooms is 23-27°C; The optimum temperature for spore germination is 22-26°C; The optimum temperature for the fruiting body formation stage is 10-20°C and so on. Of course, shiitake mushrooms also have high-temperature varieties, medium-temperature varieties and low-temperature varieties, and their temperature suitability is also different.
In summer, the climate is hot and the temperature is high. If proper cooling measures are not taken, it is easy to have rotten rods and death of mycelia. Common cooling measures include:
1. Shading and cooling
The most common is to use sunshade nets to avoid direct sunlight in the shed, so as to reduce the temperature of the shed. It is generally recommended to use black shade nets.
2. Ventilation and cooling
Install windows on the top or side walls of the greenhouse, rely on heat pressure or wind pressure for ventilation and cooling, and through proper adjustment of ventilation volume, moisture and harmful gases in the shed can be effectively eliminated.
3. Spray cooling
Add a spray belt to the roof of the mushroom shed, and spray water to the roof every evening or morning to reduce the temperature.
4. Digging canals to cool down
Dig ditches around the mushroom shed, and use the cold water drawn out to circulate around the shed to take away heat.
5. Lay rice husk
Using the moisture absorption and water absorption of rice husks, spray water on the rice husks at the bottom of the ditch to allow it to absorb more water and increase the humidity of the surrounding environment of mushrooms.
6. Equipment cooling
The cooling effect of the fan and water curtain is good, or the air conditioning equipment system can be used to control the prosperity, but the relative cost is relatively high, and large-scale mushroom sheds can be considered. Generally, it is more cost-effective to take cooling measures such as watering and ventilation for small mushroom sheds.
Generally speaking, shiitake mushrooms are very sensitive to temperature, especially the high temperature in summer will affect the safe production of shiitake mushroom sticks. Therefore, mushroom sheds in various places must take corresponding cooling measures in time.
